Australia Skilled Immigration
Australia Skilled Immigration
Australia Skilled Immigration remains one of the most attractive options for professionals worldwide, offering permanent residency through a transparent, point-based system. These pathways assess key factors such as age, education, work experience, and English proficiency, rewarding applicants who can contribute to Australia’s economy and communities.
Visas Available for Skilled Immigrants
There are three main categories of visas available to people who wish to live and work in Australia. Skilled Independent (Subclass 189) and Skilled Nominated (Subclass 190) Visa and Skilled Work Regional (Subclass 491) Visa. Each type has different requirements and costs. To qualify for these visas, applicants must demonstrate that they will contribute to the economy in a way that will benefit Australia.
If you are eligible for an Australian skilled visa, you will need to complete an application form. You must also provide evidence of English language proficiency, as well as proof of qualifications and skills needed for immigration to Australia.
Independent Migrant 189 Visa
There is a points-based permanent visa for skilled workers who are not sponsored by an Australian company, a relative, or a state or territory. Candidates must earn 65 points on the points assessment test (Subclass 189), file an EOI, and be invited by SkillSelect before being considered for the program. Permanent residency in Australia is granted to the visa holder and their family members once the visa application is approved by the government.
State Nominated Migrant 190 Visa
The Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190) requires applicants to be nominated by a state or territory government in Australia. Applicants must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through SkillSelect, be nominated, and score at least 65 points on the points assessment to be eligible for this visa.
Skilled Work Regional 491 Visa
The Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 491) is designed to attract skilled professionals to live and work in designated regional areas of Australia for up to five years. Applicants must be sponsored by an Australian relative residing in a designated area or by a state or territory government.
